Good for Foyers – Peter Ireland
Art critic Peter Ireland has written a compelling article on our recent exhibition ‘Stilled Life’ – photographic works by Fergus Cunningham.
A myriad of imagery is conjured up as comparisons between the practice of vanitas is explored and (re) located into our contemporary lives.

Gallery closed for Saturday 9th March
SmallWorks will be closed on Saturday 9th March. We will re-open for the following weekend (16th).
As always we are open to take your appointment to view the current exhibition and a number of works we have in stock should the gallery hours of 10am – 2pm Saturdays not be convenient.

Watery Papery
Wellington based artist Warwick McLeod’s works will be on exhibition at Pataka gallery, New Zealand from March 7th. The exhibition comprises a number of his paintings on paper, several of which were exhibited at SmallWorks last year in the dual show with Lorene Taurerewa called ‘Suit of Skin’.

Unseen
Arts critic, writer and artist Peter Ireland has recently installed an exhibition of 12 works at the Gisborne museum. Curating a show of paintings that are held in the immediate regions houses of private collectors, it is an opportune time to view these previously un-exhibited works.
